Different Ways to Take CBD

November 8, 2019 by Theo Leave a Comment

If you’re interested in the life enhancing properties of CBD, then you’re currently living through a golden age! Following a report from the World Health Organisation that found the specific compound Cannabidiol (the full name of CBD) had no potential to form addictive pathways in the brain, opposition to its sale collapsed and products are now available on high street shelves in chemists and health food shops and online through specialist retailers.

Making a choice about you explore the world of CBD can be overwhelming, so today we’re taking a look at different ways to you can take it to help you come to an informed decision.

Fast Doses or Slow

One of the main factors behind your choice about different ways to take CBD is how much and how quickly it can be absorbed into the body. Some delivery methods allow you to absorb a lot of the dose very quickly, while others are less bio-available (meaning less of the compound is actually available to be used by your body) and spread out their dose more slowly.

Faster isn’t always better, and in some cases it might be more advantageous to choose something that breaks down over the course of time, releasing a small but steady CBD dose over the course of hours. If you’re trying to manage a low intensity but chronic pain condition, for example, CBD edibles like gummies or chocolates offer ongoing relief you can top up easily throughout the day.

The most direct way of taking CBD is in the form of a tincture of CBD oil which you can drop under your tongue, or e-liquid for vapes: inhaling vapour allows your body to absorb the compound much faster and it can get to work almost immediately. If you need an immediate dose to cope with an immediate problem: a spike of anxiety, inability to sleep, acute pain, these are the routes you need to investigate.

CBD and your Lifestyle

The other thing you have to consider is how CBD fits into your life specifically. If you don’t vape already, for example, taking CBD in the form of e-liquid is a departure for you that may be more inconvenient and uncomfortable than it’s worth.

If you’re working in a high paced job, then you may favour CBD oil capsules as an efficient and discreet way to take a dose that fits in with regimes for other medications, vitamins and supplements. These are also fast release, to help you deal with the problems you use CBD to manage as and when they arise.
