Vacation Planning 101: How to Make the Most Out of Your Vacation

December 19, 2022 by Theo Leave a Comment

Generally speaking, vacations are intended as a period of rest and relaxation. For a lot of us, it is perhaps the only time of the year when we get to have a break from all the hustle and bustle of our work responsibilities. However, that is not to say that we cannot be productive over the course of our vacation. We can still do some simple tasks and activities that can help us maximize our time while we are not formally working.

In this article, we are going to talk about some of the best things to do to make the most out of your vacation. Before we do, though, check out our recommendations for Oklahoma City vacation rentals if you ever plan on visiting Oklahoma. Without further ado, let’s get into the list.

Set and Accomplish Goals

Not being required to go to the office and work for the entire day means that you are going to have lots of free time. Instead of spending it all on sleeping, sitting on the couch, or watching TV, it might be best to allot this time for setting and accomplishing goals. Some examples of the goals you may want to set and achieve over your vacation include: learning a new skill, doing some small house renovations, building something, or reaching a weight target, among other things. Remember that vacation is a time for you to work on yourself, your family, and your relationships with other people. Thus, it is best spent on things that can have a positive impact on your life.

Travel

Traveling is often synonymous with vacation. A lot of us like to spend our vacation traveling to our dream destination. It could be a beach, a mountain, a resort, or even a city or town. Traveling is a great way to spend your vacation because it allows you to detach yourself, both figuratively and physically, from things attached to your job or work. This could be a really refreshing experience, especially if you have been quite stressed out lately. Bear in mind, however, that traveling should be carefully and thoroughly planned.

Plan for things like your destination, the time and duration of your travel, your budget, your supplies, etc. On top of all that, do also plan for emergency scenarios or some other unexpected cases. Careful and thorough planning ensures that you will have a great time while you are out and about. If you do not accomplish this step, you run the risk of having to deal with issues and problems along the way, which can cause stress and defeat the purpose of traveling in the first place.

Spend Time With Family and Friends

This is perhaps the best thing out of having a vacation. Not having to report to work means that you can spend hours and hours on end with the people who you treasure and love. It doesn’t even have to be luxurious or expensive. What matters is that you are all having fun and you are all enjoying the company of each other.

Find A Temporary Income Opportunity

Oftentimes, the reality is that most of us will have to work non-stop just to make ends meet. Depending on your situation, it is possible that you may have to sacrifice a little bit of your vacation time for things like side jobs or gigs. Since you’re going to have some more time to work with, you can generally take on tasks or jobs that can provide you with quick and easy bucks. This includes things such as cleaning windows or driveways, selling goods, or some other temporary job opportunity. If you ever find yourself having to work as much, be sure to allot some time for rest. Your health is the most important thing to you, so you should take care of your body and avoid overworking yourself.

Looking For Limo Rental In Savanna, GA

October 29, 2021 by Theo Leave a Comment

Finally, the biggest night of your high school life is being organized, you have been dreaming of this moment since your first day at school and now you can finally begin to plan how you and your best friends want to travel to prom. You would be silly to consider anything else other than limo rental in Savanna GA, you can be assured that renting a limo will be the highlight of your evening and it will make your prom night even better than you could have imagined. There is a reason why limo rentals are so popular and it is because of the way you feel when you not only see the limo pulling up but even more so when you step into the limo for the first time.

Just imagine being dressed in the best and most beautiful dress that you have every laid eyes on, your make up is picture perfect and your hair has never been so perfect. You are finally dressed and ready to leave the house and just as you get to the bottom of the stairs the most beautiful limo you have ever seen pulls up outside your house and is ready and waiting to take you to your prom. A limo taking you to this prom that you have only ever dreamed about and here you are looking more beautiful than ever ready to step into a car of dreams with all your best friends. It really is what dreams are made of.

You walk out the house, probably screaming because you just did not expect the limo to be this amazing. Beautiful exterior but even more stylish and luxurious on the inside. Comfortable seats, lighting, music and enough space for you and all your friends to fit inside. You may even choose not to go with your friends and what better sight than the most handsome man in school waiting with the most amazing corsage outside of the limo. I imagine you would not be screaming anymore as it would probably take your breath away. So, whether you choose to go with friends or your prom date you would then move on to taking pictures by the limo and then getting in. Rolling the windows down to wave off your family who are no doubt feeling a little jealous of what you have in store.

Your journey to prom will make it even more memorable, I am sure you would not forget it anyway but there is no doubt that renting a limo for the special occasion has just topped the night off. Your nerves will probably kick in as you reach your destination and suddenly the limo stops and it is your turn to step out. You can imagine all the heads turning in your direction, waiting in suspense to see just who will be stepping out of the most beautiful limo ever…and it is YOU! Everything will be so much better than you could have dreamed of and renting a limo will have more than a little something to do with that.

Arlo Hotel’s Guide to Chinatown

May 6, 2021 by Theo Leave a Comment

At Arlo Hotel, we frequently recommend neighborhoods and sites for our guests to visit. Whether they’re looking for a lunchtime spot, a cool smaller gallery, or an interesting view of the city skyline, our expert staff have them covered. A frequently suggested neighborhood is Chinatown, located in the southern end of Manhattan to the west of the Lower East Side and north of the Financial District.

Chinatown is of course best known for Chinese restaurants, shops, and as a neighborhood that embraces Chinese-descent residents and culture. It’s a high-energy neighborhood that exemplifies both the frenetic pace of NYC as well as its charms.

Spending a day in Chinatown is not complete without grabbing takeout from one of the many restaurants. Chinatown was hard hit by COVID-19, especially various dim sum restaurants that offered seating for dozens of patrons. As the pandemic fades, expect to see more of these shops reopen as tourists and locals flock to old favorites to support Chinatown. Restaurants including standouts Bo Ky, Spicy Village, Great N.Y. Noodletown and various others continue to offer amazing takeout that visitors can enjoy in Columbus Park while watching locals play mahjong.

After filling up on dim sum and other delectable fare, we at Arlo SoHo NYC Hotel recommend you hop over to the Museum of Chinese in America to learn more about the history and heritage of Chinese immigrants. It’s a wonderful national archive of the contributions Chinese-American communities have provided New York City and the nation. It also provides visitors with context about the many hardships these communities have overcome in the past, and the many things it continues to provide in current times. The museum includes a stunning collection of photography and interactive scenarios that help visitors envision what life was like for the earliest Chinese immigrants.

Javier Burillo – Tours to Take In Mexico City

March 11, 2021 by Theo Leave a Comment

As with any big city around the world, here in Mexico City there is an abundance of tours which you can take, to explore more of the place. Having been here for a couple of years now I have managed to get wise with regards to which are the best tours to take, and there are some brilliant tours out there. There are also some tours which should be avoided however, and that is why today I want to talk about some of the experiences you can have, where you should look to get a guided tour.

Street Art

If you like street art then you are going to love the range of pieces which you can find throughout the city. There is nothing wrong of course with roaming the city on your own and trying to find some great pieces, but the reality is that this is something that is so much better with a local guide. There are three or four tours of this nature throughout the city and they will take straight to the very best murals.

Street Food Tour

Here again we see something that you could easily do alone, heading through the city trying street food. With this being said however, taking a tour is just better, and here is why. Firstly you can guarantee that you are going to be taken to street food stands which both taste great and which are going to be kind on your stomach. Secondly you are not only going to try different street foods but you will learn about them too, their history and preparation. Finally you are going to end up trying foods which you may not have tried if you were on your own.

History Tour

If you are interested in the history of the city then by all means you should take a tour. The only thing that I would recommend here however, is that you take a short tour, perhaps one which is no more than 6 hours. I have seen tours across 2 days where they will take you to ruins and to museums, but I have been told that these are boring and drawn out much more than they should be. Many of the ruins you can visit for free, the tour is about getting the explanation about the ruins and how they came to be, and the long ones are not good for this.

Market Tour

A friend of mine Javier Burillo runs a market tour, which I actually thought was a strange concept at first. Having done this tour though, I really understand why so many love it. Javier takes you through the old markets like Jamaica where there is food and products sold from all over Mexico. Because of the familiarity which the guides have with the vendors, you can get some great information about what market life is like, where the products are from and of course you will have a chance to barter for your own items.

Great tours on offer throughout the city.

Top 5 Causes of Truck Accidents and Injuries

August 25, 2020 by Theo Leave a Comment

Imagine the size of a truck and the accident impact it can create. This can cause severe injuries. You need to know about compensation if you lose a loved one or get severe injuries in such an accident. Truck accident collisions are the scariest since most of them weigh more than 30,000 pounds. When they hit a small car, it turns into a scrap with few to zero survivors. You can barely recognize a small car that has been hit by a truck.

Here are common truck accident causes

  • Fatigue

Driving a truck requires experience because it is stressful, and if you can’t take the pressure, you can cause road accidents. Most truck drivers race with time to ensure they deliver goods within the shortest period. This is overwhelming since they may be driving for a long distance without rest. When a driver is tired and doesn’t rest, an accident may occur while sleep-driving.

  • Unfocussed driving

Lack of concentration when driving is an issue on many roads due to many distractions like adverts. Many glamorous things along the road keep the drivers entertained, especially for long-distance ones who find it boring to overstay on the road. When drivers are bored, they may be tempted to make calls when driving, find podcasts, listen to the radio, and more. This can take the driver’s eyes off the road and cause an accident. Distracted driving is dangerous and a cause for disasters.

  • Use of alcohol or drugs

It isn’t advisable to drink and drive or when under the influence of specific drugs like cocaine. While most of them use amphetamines or cocaine to keep them awake, it can impair their judgment and cause road disasters. Once such stimulant levels reduce in the body, the driver might fall asleep while behind the steering wheel, only to wake up in a bang.

  • Too much speed and wrongly overtaking

Most truck drivers have a target and a deadline to meet. This makes them drive faster than they should, especially on suitable road conditions. They fear losing their jobs which is why they risk overtaking and speeding. Failure to see a small car can be fatal when a collision occurs or its hit from behind. Also, getting into another lane can be dangerous if done carelessly.

  • Lack of proper training

Commercial vehicles aren’t easy to drive without training. Moreover, trainee drivers must know the regulations and requirements regarding the number of hours they must achieve before driving commercial vehicles. Unfortunately, some drivers hit the road before achieving the essential requirements. They won’t know how to drive on harsh weather, snow, and more. This puts them and other motorists at risk of accidents.

Inexperienced truck drivers can fall by the wayside when the trip isn’t safe, thus failing to make deliveries. Also, if the cargo weight is more than what is needed for the truck, it can cause a catastrophic accident. However, some truck accidents are caused by equipment failure, needing a product liability lawsuit to sort the problem.

Conclusion

Truck accidents can be fatal or leave those involved with severe and irreversible injuries. Truck accidents are costly, and you might not be able to afford to pay the bills. Only a lawyer can help you on your next step to recovery and getting compensated by the at-fault party. Fortunately, local truck injury lawyers specialize in truck accidents. They are professionals in determining future long-term costs related to your severe injuries. Also, they handle parties responsible for the accident and hold them liable. This will give you peace of mind as you recover.

Get Your Inspiration from These Amazing Travel Photographers on Instagram

August 24, 2020 by Theo Leave a Comment

When it comes to satisfying wanderlust, travel photographers have the skill and the motivation to pack their stuff and head towards their destination. Travel photography is a profession that revolves around creating an image that displays the culture and philosophy of a particular corner of the world. These guys are highly skilled in playing around the light and the landscape and create a masterpiece that will leave you in awe. The good part about travel photography is that you don’t have to spend too much and go to a foreign country, click pictures and come back. You can do the same by staying within your home country and walk around the streets and different cities taking some mesmerizing shots of people, nature, animals and so much more.

There are many talented individuals who you can see holding a camera and taking pictures of a baby holding an ice-cream, lady dancing in the rain, an old man sitting in a chair outside his home wearing some traditional clothing, a bunch of people celebrating a religious festival or ritual and so much more. That’s the beauty of it. You can find a lot to click and show it on your blog to the world. You can follow the following travel photographers and many others on different travel programs on Nat Geo and Discovery using Cox cable packages

Annapurna Mellor (The United Kingdom)

She is one of the most amazing people who you can follow. Mellor looks to make a living by taking photographs and writing full-time. She also tries to build her portfolio and write for different publications and loves to tell stories as well. She spends most of the time traveling to Asia and loves this part of the world a lot. She has been exploring regions like Nepal, Ladakh and looks forward to explore the Islamic culture and the culture of Asia. She tends to wake up at dawn and shoots through the golden hour before the light from the sun gets too harsh as she loves to make use of soft light.

Charlie Keating (USA)

Charlie is one of the self-taught adventure photographers who can impress you with his amazing landscape photographs and some lifestyle and travel images. He makes his way throughout the USA and many other parts of the world. He loves to capture working outdoors and documenting different experiences and views that he comes across. Charlie’s work has been featured on many different occasions in the Art of Visuals magazine and received many honors as well.

Blake Polden, Australia

Blake loves to explore and experience new cultures and capture some amazing sights. He stays persistent and believes that practicing what you love to do always helps you to improve your craft and skill. He is very enthusiastic about photography and pressing down the shutter button is something that gives him tickles in his fingers. He considers high-tech gear as something that is least important for photographers. What matters is one’s idea and creative instincts.

You can have a look at a few things that all of these remarkable and skilled photographers have in common.

  • Travel Photographers always travel light and don’t carry a lot of heavy photography bags and equipment with them. They always carry and pack stuff that they need the most and are sure about. Apart from that, these guys carry their own kit. This includes a single body unless you think you can accommodate another as well, a few memory cards, flash unit, a few lenses, back up batteries and a camera bag that distributes the weight on your shoulders.
  • You might think that the cameras that photographers use today are capable enough to take some amazing shots using the AUTO mode. This is not entirely right and if you want to capture some amazing shots, using the manual focus will help you get the shot you need in a more amazing way.
  • It is a good idea to know the equipment you are using will add more advantage. You will not want to sit back and look at your camera or get confused about not getting a potentially good picture of the golden hour and miss almost everything that you can do throughout the day. When you set your mind towards going for a trip and capture some amazing pictures, I would suggest that you give yourself at least 3 to 6 months and practice different aspects of your camera and travel photography.
  • Also, plan ahead. People who plan their move and especially their trips are most likely to make the most out of it. Planning your trip includes every single detail about your trip including the money matters, your accommodations, places you want to visit, the equipment you need, deciding on whether to buy a gadget, or rent it out from someone. All of this and a lot of other things should be part of your thought process.

Key Takeaways

There is a lot more that all of these photographers practice to make their mark in the world. These are persevering individuals who follow their passion and dedicate a lot of time, effort and money to this. If you want to become a great traveler you should initially start following your passion.

A Car Accident That’s Not Your Fault? Here Is What You Should Do

May 15, 2020 by Theo Leave a Comment

Accidents are unpredictable and sometimes they happen without one warning. Accidents can happen to anyone at any time and most of them are usually beyond our control. You can be seated in your car driving carefully to work and within no time, you find yourself in an accident you did not even see coming or planned for. When it happens, you can’t escape the reality that faces you.

What to do when you are not at fault

Many of the steps you should take after an accident are always similar regardless of the type of accident or who is on the wrong side. Also, there are other steps you should always take for your own benefit in case the person at fault ignores and walks out of the scene of the accident

The following actions can help you get the best outcome in the event of the accident;

What to do immediately after accident

Always relax and calm down. If you are injured ensure you seek medical attention. Ensure all the casualties such as the passengers and drivers involved are safe and do not move the casualties from the scene unless it’s necessary for their safety. Move the vehicles out of the road onto the side to avoid unnecessary traffic jams and collisions.

Gather crucial information

Never assume that the drivers involved in an accident will always take care of the accident by walking out of the scene without ensuring there is recorded evidence. Always gather and collect the information that may be necessary for example; the personal details of the other driver, insurance company name and policy number of the driver, statements from any witnesses and photographs of the scene. This information may also help you in case you are accused of causing the accident and you can use it in the court of law to defend yourself.

What you should do when you get home after the accident

Ensure you take additional helpful steps when you get home especially if you did not sustain serious injuries. In case of serious injuries, all you may need to do is to keep detailed notes from the accident scene that will help you later.

Get in touch with your insurance company

Most of the accidents will always occur in your eye of sight and you may be able to remember everything that happened before the accident. Reporting all this to your insurance company will help you get compensation or to launch a legal claim in case the other insurance company of the victim involved fails to cooperate in the process. Contacting your insurance company after the accident also makes them trust you and by this you gain some faith and courage when reporting the scene

You can sue the other Driver’s insurance firm

In some cases, especially in the absence of a police report, insurance companies may decide to take the side of its policy holder and deny coverage. Under such circumstances your insurer may decide to either cover the damage, sue the company or work out a settlement favors both parties involved. A firm like Sabbeth Law is an example of one that ensures their clients get full and fair compensation in such incidences. Therefore, ensure you only go for a lawyer after weighing the possible outcomes to avoid any problems.

Conclusion

Getting an attorney after a car accident can always help you to avoid further possible complications and problems. An attorney will help you with legal options and direct you in deciding on the best course of action to take after your accident.

Precautions You Should Always Take While Traveling With Javier Burillo

March 11, 2020 by Theo Leave a Comment

Traveling is one of the most rewarding experiences available, and those who are lucky enough to travel should take advantage of this pleasure any time it is possible. But when you travel you need to take some precautions to be safe. This means preparing yourself in some ways before you leave for your trip, and while you are traveling. This is particularly true if you travel to another country that may have different standards and laws than your home country. To make sure that you have a great time on the road and to keep you safe while you travel, here are some tips from experienced traveler Javier Burillo.

Use a Virtual Private Network

When you travel you will not know the security level of the internet connections you use. Many places that offer Wi-Fi including hotels, and coffee houses use unencrypted networks, to send data and these present opportunities for hackers to steal your private data when you are on these W-Fi networks. You should use a top quality VPN and the great news is that several are free. Visit a VPN provider to discover the ones that give you a secure encrypted internet connection allowing you to safely surf the internet, no matter where you are and at any time. You can download the software to any of the devices you are traveling with, so you are always covered. Additionally, using a VPN will give you access to any films and TV show you want to view that may be blacked out in the country where you are traveling. So using a VPN can make your traveling safer, and keep you entertained as well.

Buy Travel Insurance

We might not consider this but many people get injured while traveling and depending on where you are and what you are doing, you may not be covered for your injuries. That is why it is very important that you take out travel insurance when you go to another country. Travel insurance can be bought to cover nearly any occurrence including bodily injuries that occur to and from the airport. You can also get travel insurance to cover the loss of your bags and for delayed flights. And remember, you do not want to be in a foreign country where you do not speak the language with an injury and no insurance coverage. Purchase travel insurance and be safe.

Leave Your Travel Itinerary with Family or Close Friends

When you take a trip make a written travel itinerary and share it with people close to you, so someone knows where you are at all times. Make sure that you leave hotels, flights and times when you will be on the move, so that someone will always know where you are generally. This may seem like you are asking someone to get in your business, but it is a smart thing to do in case either you or someone close to you has an emergency.

Always remember to stay in well-traveled areas when you are out of town. Remember that danger does not always have any warning signs, and neighborhoods can quickly turn from good to bad quickly in many cities.

It may seem adventurous to travel into unknown areas, but sometimes this can put you in really bad situations. Instead make sure that you always know where you are, and how to get back to your accommodations. Better yet try to not travel alone, instead bring a friend or loved one which can make your trip even better.

Top Tips for Parents Traveling to Thailand with Kids for the First Time

February 11, 2020 by Theo Leave a Comment

Have you recently made the decision that the next family holiday will be to the exotic destination of Thailand? While that may sound exciting all on its own, when you’re traveling with kids, there is a whole lot more to consider than just picking a “cool destination”. In fact, there are all kinds of steps that go into planning that ideal family trip.

Chiang Mai, Thailand, Temple, Religion, Travel

Here we’ll take a look at the top tips for families traveling to Thailand for the first time.

Look for Direct Flights

The first tip can be used when you book your flights to Thailand. Opting for a direct flight without any connections may cost you a bit more money, but it can save a lot of stress and hassle. Connections can be quite tight and difficult for adults to make, never mind when you’re towing around the kids and all their “stuff”. A direct flight will just make the transit time smoother and faster overall.

Choose Accommodations Wisely

Accommodations are another area that you can make some wise decisions. First off, you want to be sure the hotel is family-friendly, which means they have services, activities, and/or amenities that cater to the kids. This helps to keep the kids happy and comfortable, which means parents will have a more enjoyable time.

Take for example the Krabi Luxury Resorts property, which is situated right on the secluded and lush Klong Muang Beach. The property features a family getaway package that takes care of everything for you. Features include the Kids Pass Program, complimentary breakfast, free access to the Kidz R Kids facilities, a free teddy feet massage, turn down service for the kids complete with milk and cookies, and so much more.

Don’t Over-Schedule Your Days

The next tip is to go easy with the schedule. Sure, there’s nothing wrong with having an idea of what you want to do each day, but parents need to be flexible knowing that things could change at any given moment. Kids get tired, bored, restless, and other things can catch their eyes along the way. Staying fluid and reacting to that moment is usually the best plan.

Spend Time Researching Sights and Attractions

At the same time, it’s a good idea to have a rough idea of what you want to do and experience with the kids while in Thailand. This means a little advance research on the top sights and attractions that are family-friendly. Keep in mind that you’ll want to choose spots that are located nearby to your accommodations.

Find Foods They Are Comfortable With

The final tip is to ease back on the sampling of different foods. Sure you’re in Thailand, which means you have access to some of the most wonderful cuisine in the whole world, but kids are often picky and suspicious of anything outside the norm when it comes to food. Be sure that you still offer plenty of foods and snacks they are used to.

A Trip to Remember

By using each of these tips, parents and kids will have a Thai trip to remember for a lifetime.
