8 Ways to Give Your Student a Leg Up – Victor Restis

January 20, 2022 by Theo Leave a Comment

Education is critical to a successful career. That is why we prioritize providing our students with all of the tools and resources they need to succeed in their studies and future careers. Here are eight ways you can give your student a leg up according to experts like Victor Restis:

1. Donate to the school library

We strive to provide an extensive library in each classroom. However, many of our students do not have the necessary books at home to conduct research for their classes – or even complete homework assignments. A donation to your school library will ensure that all students are able to take advantage of the wealth of information available there.

2. Sponsor a field trip

We understand that it’s not always possible for parents to pay for transportation and other costs associated with attending field trips at local museums or traveling shows. Sponsoring a field trip is one way you can elevate your student’s learning experience while exposing them to new ideas and places they might never get the chance to see otherwise.

3. Offer tutoring services

We work hard every day helping each child reach his or her full potential, but sometimes an outside opinion is needed. Providing your student with tutoring services can help target problem areas and boost academic performance.

4. Sponsor an event

Allowing our students to take part in community events are one way we give them confidence in their abilities and prepare them for success in life. Sponsoring an event for the school is a great way to get your business in front of our students and their families while supporting their education.

5. Donate old technology

Technology changes rapidly, which can be a challenge for public schools trying to keep up with the latest equipment at a reasonable price. Donating old computers, tablets, and other gadgets can help provide students with cutting-edge technology without breaking the bank.

6. Adopt a teacher

Don’t have time to volunteer in your student’s classroom? We understand, but we still depend on dedicated parents like you to ensure all teachers have what they need every day – especially when it comes to supplies. You can help above and beyond by adopting one or more of our educators, so they never run out of things like pencils, pens, notebook paper, or other essentials.

7. Sponsor lunch for the school

Providing students with nutritious snacks and lunches each day is one of our top priorities. Unfortunately, it can be costly to purchase enough food for hundreds of students every week. You can take that financial burden off our hands by sponsoring a weekly or monthly lunch program – even if it’s just once or twice a year!

8. Donate supplies

As a public school, we provide all of our students with the basic supplies they need to succeed in their studies. That said, you can help above and beyond by donating things that aren’t included on our supply lists – like snacks for after-school activities or even money to purchase items that are out of stock.

Closing Thoughts

As you can see, there are plenty of ways you can provide your student with a leg up. No matter how you choose to help, we appreciate that you’re always thinking about their education and future!
